Unicellular: Commonly referred to as; a single celled organism. is an organism that consists of one cell.

Multicellular: An organism that consists of more than one cell. Antonym to Unicellular

Organelle: A small structure that makes up a cell.

Solute: Something that dissolves in a solvent.

Solvent: Something that a solvent is in, typically a liquid.

Permable: When things can flow through

Impermable: When things can't flow through

Central Nervous System: The brain and the spinal cord, controls activities of the body.

Peripheral Nervous System: Uses nerves throughout the body.

Autonomic System: Involuntary movements of the body, like the heart or respiration. Think Automatic.

Somatic System: Controls voluntary movement.

Dense: Thick, cells are more compact.

Torque: A force generated from twisting something.

Force: A push or a pull.

Hydraulic System: A system that uses liquid under pressure to move loads.

Pneumatic System: A system that uses gas under pressure to move loads.

Adaptation: A physical structure or change in behavior that allows an organism to better survive it's enviroment

Physical Adaptation: A physical change that allows an organism to better survive it's enviroment

Behavioral Adaptation: A behavioral change that allows an organism to better survive it's enviroment

Seasonal Changes: The direct result of the Earth's tilt and location from the sun. Which causes yearly seasons and significant changes in weather. Routinely changes that happen directly because of the Earth changing positions.

Short-Term Changes: Temporary changes that don't happen routinely, not yearly.

Long-Term Changes: A change that has permanent or long-lasting effects on an ecosystem.
